AFL Head Gillon McLachlan has announced that starting from the 29th of July there will be 20 consecutive days of matches played to cover rounds nine to 12 of the 2020 season. This news has been welcomed by footy fans in Melbourne that are currently enduring a six week lock down due to the recent rapid spread of COVID-19.
“To have footy on every night of the week is a childhood dream come!0,I’ve honestly wasted all my early birthday wishes on it.While I didn’t have a world ravaging pandemic in mind to make it happen,I’m just glad we’re here now”said one Bulldogs fan
“While everything that’s going on in Melbourne is terrible,it’s hard not to see the silver lining knowing we’re getting 20 days of footy in a row!”said a Collingwood supporter
“It’s honestly the stuff of dreams if you ignore everything that caused this, which I will be doing”said an optimistic Essendon member
Back Pocket Bulletin agrees with the sentiment and will endeavour to make sure that any sort of Corona virus news is kept out of our ‘Footy Bonanza’ coverage.
